The AARP Foundation will host an exhibition this January.
The event will highlight the work of world-renowned artist Alexei Butirskiy. The talented artist is a Russian-born painter who has acquired a loyal following for his surreal romanticism oil paintings. These were well received across art communities in Russia, England and the United States. Methods of realism and impressionism on oil canvas are his trademark. His work is inspired by such names as Vermeer, Rembrandt, and Jourj Latur.
Butirsky gained his education at the Moscow Art College. He later studied under the tutelage of accomplished artist L.S. Hasyanova at the Russian Academy of the Arts. His repertoire has developed and his art now focuses on psychological portraiture and still life urban settings. These rely on a contrast of light and dark that is sure to engage viewers. With this event, which is free to attend, patrons can experience this transition in person.
