McDonough car show to benefit veterans

The Georgia Street Rod Association will organize a car show in McDonough to support the Honor Flight organization.

The Georgia Street Rod Association Benefit Car Show is a community competition where people can see a wide variety of cars and show their support for veterans. There are many categories for this year’s event, such as exotics, sports cars, customs, and trucks. The competition will give away 32 awards, and 25 of the awards will be given out by popular vote. The other prices at the show include the Summit Racing Kids’ Choice award and Best Interior.

Honor Flight is a national non-profit group that aims to celebrate America’s veterans by sending them to the nation’s memorial sites. Those on the trip will be shown appreciation and be honored for their service. Since its formation, the organization has transported more than 250,000 veterans. Jeff Miller and Earl Morse created the non-profit in 2005, and the current chief executive officer of the group is Meredith Rosenbeck.

The car show is on Saturday, June 3 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. Registration for the benefit will close at noon. People may enter their cars into the event for $20. Guests can pay $5 to participate in a raffle during the show for a tool chest and cabinet. Associations that organize and promote events like this may use banner printing to advertise their charitable activities outdoors.
