An early November event in a nearby city is putting a spotlight on the season, with a fun theme that McDonough residents are sure to enjoy.
The Wetlands & Watershed Festival is an annual celebration that follows a new theme each year. This allows for repeat attendees to experience something new every time. The theme this year is “Mysteries of the Marsh.” The event is bound to have something for attendees of any age.
Activities offered to festivalgoers include a walk full of storytellers, face painting, games, a scavenger hunt, family portraits offered free of charge, giveaways of kayaks, and nature-themed crafts. Other offerings include exhibits, an area with live animals, and trivia. If guests would like to, they can also take part in some watershed education experiences from the organizers/venue staff.
The festival is put together by the Clayton County Water Authority. Many of the staff members who will be at the event speak Spanish, and there will also be interpreters for guests who need ASL.
Attending the event comes at no cost. The same goes for the parking. The venue is the Newman Wetlands Center in Hampton. Many festivals are promoted using flyer printing, as it allows organizers to spread out to more of the surrounding area.
Everyone is welcome to attend this annual gathering, which takes place from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on Sunday, November 2.
