Management of Henry County is now in the hands of Lyndon Bonner, who officially began his first full week at his new job on Monday, October 12.
Bonner found out on October 6 that he would require a new supply of premium Business Cards when his contract, which became effective immediately, was approved by the Henry County commissioners.
The new county manager’s base salary is $146,160 and his contract provided a one-time reimbursement for moving expenses not to exceed $7,500, and contingent on valid and appropriate receipts. McDonough, being the county seat, might well be his new location.
Other details of the new county manager’s contract, revealed by the Henry Daily Herald, include severance pay of three months’ salary with benefits. It is stipulated, however, that the obligation to pay severance is negated if the manager’s termination is for just cause. Examples of such a situation include gross or willful neglect of duty, a failure to perform duties assigned by commissioners, or abandonment of duties.
Both county officials and Bonner must indicate to the other party whether or not they intend to renew the contract no later than August 1 every year, so they have nearly nine months to make their next decision. Failure to do so will automatically trigger the contract to renew on October 6. Get a Free Quote for Business Cards
