Marietta’s The Strand Theatre is continuing the holiday spirit with four festive shows in December.
Earl and Rachel Smith Strand Theatre, 117 North Park Square, will begin its December line-up with “A Christmas Tradition.” This Christmas revue will have singers and dancers dressed for the holidays presenting both traditional and non-traditional music. It will be playing from this Friday, December 10, through December 23.
Strand Old Opry’s Country Christmas, on December 16 beginning at 8:00 pm, will have banjo and fiddle Christmas classics with local singers, a live band and storytelling in a back porch, taking place in the traditional Southern style. Drinks, toasts, and a hootenanny will be in the Lumiere Lounge after the performance.
The classic movie “It’s a Wonderful Life” will be shown all day at the Strand on Tuesday, December 21 with shows at 11:00 am, 2:30 pm, 6:15 pm, and 9:15 pm. In this beloved tale, guardian angel Clarence shows frustrated businessman George Bailey what life in Bedford Falls would be like if he had never been born. Drinks and popcorn will be available.
To see out 2021, New Year’s Eve with “The Music of Queen and Bowie” will be at the Strand starting at 9:00 pm on December 31. The Georgia Players Guild will bring in the New Year with music by the two iconic artists.
Venues often arrange banner and brochure printing as the dates for events like these come around.
