Historic Marietta Square is getting ready for the city’s Scarecrows in the Square and HarvestFest coming in mid-October.
Kids ages 12 and under are invited to attend in their Halloween finery and bring trick-or-treat Bags to enjoy Halloween Happenings. Along with candy, attendees can enjoy inflatable houses and carnival games.
The handmade costume contest will be from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm at the Glover Park Stage. First, second, and third place prizes will be awarded in six age divisions, one group category, and to an overall winner. The pet costume contest will begin at 3:00 pm.
A pie eating contest will take place between noon and 12:30 pm. Everyone six years old and older can participate. Prizes will include gift baskets, free Slice-of-Pie and Cup of Coffee gift cards, Pie Bar Mugs, and T-Shirts sporting the Pie Bar Logo Design.
The HarvestFest Arts and Crafts Market opens at 9:00 am and closes at 5:00 pm.
Touch-a-Truck, where kids can get a close encounter with police cars, tow trucks, fire trucks, tractors, and other City of Marietta vehicles, will run from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm.
Scarecrows on the Square will display scarecrows made by Marietta businesses, clubs, non-profits, and schools. Awards will go to winners in each division and to a Best in Show. Each display is welcome to have kids’ activities or treats.
HarvestFest and Scarecrows on the Square will be Saturday, October 16 at Glover Park, 50 N Park Square NE.
