Expo to highlight natural jewels

A showcase for a popular item and its varieties is set to take place in Marietta in late August.

The Bellpoint Gem Show celebrates gemstones in several ways. Vendors are able to display and sell stones of different types, shapes, and sizes. Some may also have fossils, jewelry, beads, crystals, minerals, carved pieces, or tumbled stones. Information on the gems can be found online, as well as through some of the people selling them. Pricing for the items at the expo will vary based on the vendor, type, size, rarity, and product. Booths will be set up inside the Cobb County Civic Center.

A few of the most widely known gemstones are diamonds, rubies, emeralds, sapphire, amethyst, and opal. Due to the natural formation of most stones, no two will be entirely the same visually. Many different gems are used in accessories, as decoration, or as gifts.

Bellpoint was started in 1996. Since then, both Bellpoint Promotions and Bellpoint Gems have continued to host several events each year. The companies also travel to other shows in order to bring their guests new and unique pieces.

Tickets will cost $8, which can only be bought at the door, with cash. Children aged seven or younger can attend for free, but an adult must be with them. Flyer printing is often done to promote similar expos. This event will last three days, with the first two running from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, and the third lasting from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. The dates for this showcase are August 26, 27, and 28.
