Palm Coast to step up for fundraising walk

The community of Palm Coast has been asked support a fundraiser that will help provide assistance for those living with Down syndrome.

The plans for the Fun Coast Down Syndrome Association's Fun Coast Buddy Walk are about to get underway, and anyone who would like to get involved is welcome to come aboard. They can do so on their own or along with their friends and family, and groups of co-workers are encouraged to join in the fun as well.

The registration fee for the event is $15, but anyone living with the condition may join in free of charge. Everyone who participates will receive a T-shirt with a unique graphic design, and the function is set to be held in Central Park. Anyone who would like to contribute but cannot attend the function in person will be able to make a monetary donation.

The organizers of the day explained that it is part of a larger, national initiative to raise money for programming and other support for those living with the condition. There may still be sponsorship opportunities available for the event, and more information about these has been added to the function's website.

The 16th annual Buddy Walk will take place in Palm Coast on Saturday, October 9. Walkers will set off at 10:00 am.
