Palm Coast goes for a walk

There will be a preserve walk taking place in Palm Coast this December.

The Guana Tolomato Matanzas Research Reserve invites individuals to explore a wooded trail within the River-to-Sea Preserve. During the excursion, a guide will share insights into different aspects of the surroundings. These will include seasonal blooming shrubs, Native American customs involving plants used for an array of purposes, and moss-covered trees.

Parking at the venue does not incur any fees, and there are accessible public restrooms available. It is advisable to wear suitable outdoor attire, dress warm, and prepare for challenging weather conditions. Closed-toed shoes are recommended for safety.

Visitors are encouraged to bring a refillable water bottle, insect repellent, sunscreen, and cameras or binoculars for the best possible experience.

The trails consist of loose sand, making them suitable for strollers equipped with sturdy, all-terrain wheels. After the trail exploration, visitors can venture over to the beach or head south to explore the state park.

Participation in this walk is free, although individuals will need to register prior to attending, which they can do on the Friends of GTM Research Reverse website. Brochure printing can be a great way to provide information about trails such as this one.

The event will be on Wednesday, December 13 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. The meet-up location will be 9805 N Ocean Shore Blvd, Palm Coast, Florida.
