The University of Central Florida College of Arts and Humanities will host Shrek: The Musical at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts in Orlando.
The UCF College of Arts and Humanities’ primary aim is to promote the exploration and appreciation of all art Forms, whether it be fine arts, digital media, literature, music, or theatre. Every year, the college puts on multiple productions to celebrate the arts. The celebration spans over several days and includes lectures, concerts, discussions, visual arts exhibitions, and musicals.
This year, students will perform the DreamWorks and Tony Award-winning film, Shrek: The Musical. It tells the tale of Shrek, a short-tempered green ogre, whose swamp gets invaded by fairy-tale characters that were banished by Lord Farquaad. He strikes a deal with the evil lord to rescue Princess Fiona in order to get his home back. Attendees will follow him and Donkey, his loyal yet annoying sidekick, on a journey where they both learn valuable lessons.
