Miami to get funky at disco skating event
Miami Beach will soon hold the Italo Miami Disco Connection: Skate Night event, which will give the community a chance to come together to enjoy a night of groovy disco skating at a popular local rink.
The Italo Miami Disco Connection serves as a part of an international cultural exchange program created with support from the Miami-Dade County Cultural Affairs Council. The council works to develop and promote diversity, cultural excellence, cultural exchange, and social participation by creating strategic opportunities for Miami’s artists and nonprofits, as well as their audiences.
The skate night will feature Body Funk DJs from Rome, as well as local favorites such as Aramis and Benton. Other special guests have yet to be announced. The event will also serve as celebration of a cross-cultural record lease called Ode to Italy. Residents of Miami Beach will receive free skate rentals. There will also be a fully stocked bar and a wide range of food vendors to choose from.
Venues of such events may sometimes be decorated with colorful themed banners, which organizers can prepare at area print shops specializing in banner printing services.
The skating event is slated for Sunday, September 1 at 5:00 pm. It will be held at 7275 Collins Avenue. The only fee will be for refreshments, and skate rentals for those who are not residents of Miami Beach.
