Miami fashion school to teach pattern making

This July, the Fashion Institute of Florida will offer the Intro to Pattern Making Workshop for any aspiring designers looking to explore the basics.

The Fashion Institute of Florida is a vocational fashion school that provides training and education in fashion design that sidesteps the high costs associated with traditional fashion schools. It offers a variety of instructional courses, including full fashion design training, stand-alone workshops, and short ancillary courses.

The Intro to Pattern Making Workshop will be taught by Ms. Rucht D’Oleo, who is an author, fashion designer, and director at the institute. In the four-hour class, students will learn the basics of fashion patterns, such as some of the vocabulary and techniques, including how to place the patterns on fabric itself. All materials will be included. Students will also receive unlimited access to the online version of the workshop and the accompanying e-book.

Educational courses like this that offer resources that are also virtual, such as an online platform or e-book materials, may have a team of graphic design artists on hand to facilitate the virtual offerings.

The pattern making workshop is scheduled to take place on July 12 from 10:00 am to 2:30 pm. The Fashion Institute of Florida is located at 773 Northeast 125th Street, North Miami. The class registration fee is $109 per person.
