Miami art class to explore watercolor portraits

This August, aspiring artists should note that the Watercolor Workshop and Exhibit by Mario A. Robinson will be held to train interested students in watercolor and portrait techniques.

The class will be taught by Mario A. Robinson, and Exhibiting Artist Member (EAM) of The National Arts Club whose work has been featured in prominent magazines such as The Pastel Journal, The Artist's Magazine, Watercolor Magic and American Art Collector. Mario will guide students through how to accurately draw a live model’s portrait as well as paint that drawing.

Students will draw and paint a live model who will keep a single pose for the entire time to ensure that students can take their time to render the subject in its entirety. The attendees will then learn how to employ a monochromatic block-in and utilize full color application of color to paint the portrait. Attendees will leave the class having learned how to use a methodological approach to increase portrait realism.

Organizers of such workshops may decide to distribute event flyers in places such as libraries and community centers. Such advertising materials can be professionally printed by utilizing local flyer printing services.

The multi-day watercolor workshop is slated for August 9 to August 11. It will be held at Ark For Art, located at 4239 Southwest 75th Avenue. The class fee is $420.
