Popular event back following 2014 absence

Swamp Fest is returning to Land O’ Lakes after a one-year hiatus, no doubt much to the delight of area residents looking for fall festivities.

The event was shelved last year while Land O’ Lakes Boulevard Park was being renovated. According to Doug Hutchinson, Swamp Fest organizer, the new park complex has turned out beautifully and he is hoping for large crowds to enjoy the festival and the new surroundings. Swamp Fest raises funds for the Land O’ Lakes High School Athletic Booster Club and is sponsored by the organization.

Once again, Wade Entertainment, a locally owned company, will be operating the midway rides and games. In addition to the midway entertainment, Swamp Fest will feature lots of food and live entertainment, including performances by the Shane Forrester Band, Roger Allen, and Amy Jones. Informing area residents such as those in nearby Lutz of festival details is best accomplished with the assistance of a poster printing service.

Advanced tickets can be obtained at Sugar & Spice daycare and most local schools, as well as the three Beef‘O’Brady locations in the Land O’ Lakes area. Unlimited ride bands cost $16 if purchased in advance, while during the festival Midway bands cost $25 on Saturday and $22 on Friday and Sunday.

The Swamp Fest takes place on the Land O’ Lakes Community Center grounds from 4:00 pm to 11:00 pm October 30 and 31, and from noon to 6:00 pm on November 1.
