New Costco store to provide retail opportunities in Lutz

Costco Wholesale, a membership warehouse, recently announced it will be opening a new store in the Cypress Creek Town Center, near the Interstate 75 interchange in Lutz.

The store is expected to be over 152,000 square feet in size. Inside it, beer and wine will be sold and package sales will take place in a liquor store next door that will have a separate entrance and occupy an additional 2,136 square feet. There will also be an area for the sale of tires, a gas station, and parking for close to 700 vehicles across 17 acres.

Costco will be surrounded by several restaurants and eateries. Currently under construction north of the store are Cheddar's Casual Café and Culver’s restaurants, and also planned are Panda Express and Chil-fil-A.

An opening date of late summer of this year is planned, according to the Grace Young, an attorney based in Tampa who is representing the store with regards to a zoning issue. A member of the Planning Commission, Peter Hanzel of Wesley Chapel, has inquired about confirmation of this date, as many people in Lutz are currently required to drive to the store in Brandon.

Costco may be looking to banner printing so it can post decorative items on the site announcing the opening date and the special products and services this store will be offering its customers.
