This July 4th, Lutz will hold its annual Independence Day 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run to celebrate the country’s day of independence with exercise, fun, and festivities.
The 5K and fun run has been an annual tradition of the town with the purpose of bringing the community together to participate in a healthy activity while also paying tribute to the 4th. The run serves as a precursor to the Lutz Independence Day Parade later that morning.
The run will begin with packet pickup and an early morning Jazzercise to get participants warmed up for the event. The 5K will be chip timed and will begin before the 1-mile fun run. All runners in the 5K race and 1-mile run will receive finisher medals. Trophies will be rewarded to the overall male and female finisher, as well as top three in age groups from 0 to 9 all the way to 70 plus.
The medals and trophies given out at runs like this will often have the event’s Logo Design engraved on them to indicate the occasion.
The Lutz 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run is scheduled for July 4th, beginning at 6:30 am for packet pickup. The 5K starts at 7:30 am, and the fun run begins at 8:15 am. It will be held at the Lutz Civic Center, located at 19016 US-41.
