Lutz area workshop to help women transition to a civilian career

The transition from a military career to a life on “civy street” can sometimes be a challenge, and women from Lutz who are making this change may wish be included in an afternoon event planned with them in mind.

The Next Uniform initiative, which was formerly known as ‘Stand Up’, will provide information and support for women who are veterans, or who are currently in the process of leaving their military life behind them. It is being offered free of charge, and any woman who feels she can make use of it is welcome.

The attendees in the event will focus on their image and presentation when it comes to the search for a civilian career. Free head shots will be taken, as these can be helpful when using social media to make a positive first impression with potential employers. They can also be used on Business Cards and other networking tools.

All those who will be taking part are asked to dress in professional attire and be ready to have their photo take. In addition to this, there will be a raffle for gift cards that can be used to purchase new career clothing.

This workshop has been planned for 1901 E 2nd Ave in Tampa, and it will begin at 12:00 noon on June 16. The support of the Florida American Legion Auxiliary has helped to make it possible.
