The 50th annual San Antonio Rattlesnake Festival and Run is taking place over two days next month in aid of the Rotary Club of San Antonio.
There will be activities that should appeal to everyone in the family regardless of their age, such as live snake and reptile shows and lectures, wooden gopher tortoise races, and live alligators. For the kids, there will be a farm animal petting zoo, pony rides, games, and arts and crafts activities. Cowboy Tom and Nerdy Noah the Juggler will also be on hand to entertain.
Live music will be provided by performers such as Those Unscrupulous Sunspots and Jessie and Noah.
Other activities will include an old-time pioneer village, mechanical bull rides, a food court, and a farmers’ market.
The run will take place on the first day of the festival. Participants can choose between 5 miles or 1 mile. Fees are $25 or $30 for one adult and child aged 10 and under, and the first 500 to register will receive free T-Shirts.
People from all around the area, including nearby Lutz, may find out about this festival through distributed Flyers.
The San Antonio Rattlesnake Festival and Run will be held in City Park from October 15 to 16. Admission is free. Call 352-588-4444 for more information.
