Walk to help fund research into devastating illness

Walk MS: Largo is taking place next month. It is a fundraising event for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Walk MS events take place all over the country and have raised over $1bn in total since 1988. In 2017, the Largo walk raised $38,896, and this year’s goal is $40,000.

Walkers raise pledges from friends, family, and neighbors and decide to take part in either the one-mile or three-mile routes. Both individuals and teams are welcomed. Individuals who raise certain amounts become eligible for prizes; for example, an official walk T-shirt is given to those who raise over $100. In addition, virtual walkers are also welcome – these are people who just raise pledges online and do not intend to walk.

After the walk, there will be entertainment, food, and family-friendly activities to take part in.

Openings are still available for volunteers to help with various aspects of the walk.

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society provides awareness about MS and also funds research. Additionally, it provides services for MS patients and their families.

It is likely that a Largo printing services company will provide the pledge Forms that will be handed in by walk participants.

Walk MS: Largo will be held at Largo Central Park on March 24 from 8:00 AM to 12:00 noon. To learn more and to register, visit the official walk website.
