Vegan cooking workshops to be held in Largo

Wellness Wednesday: A Plant-Based Experience is being launched by the Largp Community Center this fall.

This is a cooking series focused on flavorful and practical meals based on plants. Each workshop is hands-on, led by Chef Rita, and costs $25 per person in addition to a supply fee of $5.00 to $10.00 depending on the workshop.

Instant Pot Mushroom Bourguignon and Mashed Potatoes is the first workshop. This is an elegant meal made in an Instant Pot with no oil added. This will be on September 10.

The next workshop is Smoky Butternut Squash Pasta Sauce. This will feature Chef Rita’s smokey butternut squash pasta sauce and roasted vegetables. She will also share her secret ingredients for a Ranch dressing based on plants. This will be on October 8.

The third in the series will be Seasonal Soups made in one pot. These soups will include Creamy Vegetable, Tomato Basil bisque, and Broccoli Cheddar. Attendees will learn tips techniques, and tricks to simplify these soups. This will be on November 12.

The last workshop will be Winter Comfort Cooking and will have attendees cooking a light lasagna with homemade ricotta “cheese,” in addition to oil-free garlic toast and the signature balsamic vinaigrette from Chef Rita. This will be on December 10.

Brochure printing can be used to provide more details on such workshops and how to register for them. All workshops are on Wednesday afternoons from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.
