The 2nd Avenue Southwest neighborhood in Largo will be the location for improvements to sidewalks and roadways this month.
The tweaks will include minor improvements to drainage, enhancements to meet ADA requirements, installation of sidewalks, and resurfacing of roadways. Various paving methods will be used by the contractor to restore the surfaces of the roadways.
This project is expected to last about six months and work will be carried out during the work week from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. There will be closures of one lane while the contractor progresses through the area, although no school bus stops will be affected. There may also be temporary lane closures, restrictions, and disruptions to individual sidewalks and driveways that pedestrians use, as well as construction overnight. The city plans to do its utmost to maintain traffic flow on roads that are next to the construction.
Residents in the area are also requested to remover private property within 10 to 20 feet from roadways. Such items can include decorations, landscaping, gardens, Signs, and other items. Residents do not need to remove any mailboxes as the contractor will handle their relocation and restoration to their original locations.
Should a driveway be blocked, residents will be given 48 hours’ notice by the contractor with hangers on their doors. Such hangers may be printed using various printing services.
