New option in Largo for renewing vehicle registrations

There are now more options for renewing registrations of motor vehicles for residents of Largo and Pinellas County.

Charles W. Thomas, the Tax Collector of Pinellas County, said that new self-service kiosks are being installed at various tax collector offices and in certain Publix grocery stores around the county. There is a kiosk at the Tax Collector's Offices in Largo, Clearwater, St. Petersburg, and Pinellas Park, with more locations to be established in the coming weeks. Locations of such kiosks can be made known to the public through poster printing.

These kiosks will enable residents to make payments by credit and get their vehicles registered in under two minutes. A partnership between Publix, the office of the Tax Collector, and Intellectual Technology Inc. is making these kiosks possible.

Thomas added that a priority of his office is to provides high-quality service. He said this partnership enables his office to serve as a role model, as well as being a benefit for customers. Customers now no longer need to make an appointment for renewing their registrations and do so on demand.

Customers can choose whether they want the prompts in English or Spanish as they are guided through the process. The total for the transaction includes a 2% to 3% charge for the debit or credit card.
