The Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg will be held in October and will be hosted by Green Savoree St. Petersburg, LLC, INDYCAR, and the city. Residents of Largo who are race car enthusiasts may want to attend this event.

Rick Kriseman, mayor of St. Petersburg, said the city is ready to welcome the teams, drivers, sponsors, and fans of the INDYCAR series, and thanked Green Savoree for its trust in the city and giving people an event to which they can look forward. He made his assurances that it will be held in a manner that will maintain the health and well-being of every involved.
Kim Green, co-owner, chairman and CEO of the organizers of the event, added that holding this series of races is a positive development. The support and commitment of the Firestone, INDYCAR, and the city, Green added, have made it possible for this event to take place.
The crowning of the championship of the NTT (Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation) INDYCAR series, which is the premier level of open-wheel racing in North America, will take place on the last day of the event.
The St. Petersburg Firestone Grand Prix will take place from Friday October 23 through Sunday October 25.
