Two events that are free and open to the community are being held by the Greater Ridgecrest YMCA of Largo this month.
This is the second year that the Family Field Day will be held to celebrate foster children and their families, and to learn more about the YMCA, its mission, and community services. During Family Field Day the YMCA of Suncoast will enable all foster children age 21 years and younger to have free access to any YMCA facility in Citrus, Hernando, West Pasco, and Pinellas counties.
Swimming, games, and other endeavors to promote physical activity will take place during the day, with Subway providing the food. Hours for the event are 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.
With October being Breast Cancer Awareness month, the first Gather for a Cure will also be held by the Greater Ridgecrest YMCA of Largo. Attendees at this event will be able run, bike, or take a walk through Taylor Park. Survivors will be on hand to present testimonials and partners in the community will also answer some of the questions that are most frequently asked about breast cancer. It promises to be an event of fun and fellowship.
This event will run from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
Both events will take place on Saturday October 6. Banner printing is often used to promote special events such as these.
