The Pinellas Education Foundation and Achieva Credit Union are partnering for their yearly school supply drive.
Called “Stuff the Bus,” the drive will be at several branch offices of Achieva throughout Pinellas County, including one on Seminole Boulevard in Largo.
Marketing and event manager for Achieva, Chelsey Wilson, expressed her pleasure in being able to begin the school year by showing their support of students with this supply drive. Wilson added that it sets a positive tone for the year when students start off with all the tools they need.
The school supplies in the heaviest demand include three-ring binders, glue bottles and sticks, pencils and pencil sharpeners, Notebooks, and Backpacks. Monetary donations will also be accepted in addition to purchasing products on the Amazon Wish List. Such school drives often turn to the use of banner and flyer printing throughout a county so that residents become aware of the need for such supplies, and understand which ones are most needed.
The Pinellas Education Foundation and the PTA of the Pinellas County Council will be distributing all the supplies collected to students in need in their individual schools. The Foundation estimates that 60% of the students in Pinellas County are disadvantaged economically, hence the need for drives like this.
The supply drive will be running through Thursday, August 19.
