A new apartment complex is planning to be built next to the Largo Middle School.
Belleair Development Group of Pinellas Park is looking to construct a complex of 231 units near Largo Central Park on a parcel of land that spans 15.5 acres. There will be five buildings, each four stories high, surrounding a pond. A landscaped buffer 30 feet high will be built between the complex and the single-family homes that face the southern part of the property, as well as a multi-use path 10 feet wide along Donegan Road and Eighth Avenue Southeast. Developers of such projects often turn to printing services to create Flyers, Brochures, and other materials with more details.
The developer will need to conduct a traffic study to determine the impact of the project on adjacent roadways, and to set aside 30% of the units for affordable housing. Any improvements along Donegan Road and Eighth Avenue Southeast are to be carried out by the developer. Acting Planning Manager Alicia Parinello said that this is a unique opportunity to make these improvements along those streets.
Woody Brown, mayor of Largo, said that the development has many advantages for the area. He added that it would provide multifamily and affordable housing close to Largo Central Park and offer good pedestrian access, tying the entire area together.
