The fifth annual Best of Largo contest was recently held, and four definitive winners emerged – two of which were repeat winners.
The Largo Leader hosts the contest and partners with the city of Largo to promote small businesses from the area.
Thrift Shop of Largo won in the retail category, defending its title. Co-owner Jimmy Olson commented that the store has worked diligently over the past year, expanding its offerings. The store is owned by Casey Cameron and Jimmy and Tammy Olson, and features knick-knacks, electronics, kitchenware, and discount clothing, as well as handmade jewelry, collectibles and fine china.
The top prize in the businesses and services category went to CrossFit TFB, owned by James and Whitney Haley and Justin Walsh. The business is a gym that specializes in the CrossFit fitness program that includes all aspects of working out, including weightlifting, rowing, and gymnastics.
Culver’s of Largo won in the restaurant category. The owners are Parrish and Alicia Sandefur who opened the chain based in Wisconsin that is known for its fresh frozen custard and ButterBurgers.
Mama Bear Cleaning, owned and operated by Dawn Fountain, won in the category of homebased business, which is a professional house-cleaning service.
