The I Like it HOT! Festival will be held in Largo later this month for the 22nd year.
The festival will focus on hot sauce and the many foods it can accompany. There will be various vendors providing samples of their sauces, live music, and demonstrations and lessons on the Tampa Bay Whip. Competitions will be held on both days of the festival. Local Print shops can play a major role in promoting such festivals and encouraging participation in the competitions.
On the Saturday, there will be an Amateur Hot Sauce Competition of entries that are stove top recipes and are not sold commercially. There will also be a Pepper Eating Contest where entrants will be given three minutes to eat as many jalapenos as possible. Lastly, a Vendors’ Hot Concoction Competition will see vendors enter their own products or a dish on which they have been working.
A new Amateur Barbecue Sauce competition will be held on the Sunday for barbecue sauce recipes that are not sold commercially. A HOT Hula Hoop competition will also take place in which the entrant who is the last one still “hooping” will be declared the winner.
The festival will be held from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on Saturday, September 10 and from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on Sunday, September 11 at the Largo Event Center. Admission and parking are free.
