The Elks Lodge in Largo is hosting several special events later this month.
Poster printing displayed throughout a community is often used to garner interest in such special happenings.
The first is an Elktoberfest. This festival will feature German beer trucks, food, music, games, and vendors. There is a fee of $5 for the event, with no admission fee for children under six years of age and active-duty members of the military. Proceeds of the festival will benefit the Florida Elks Army of Hope. This organization enables members of the military to focus on their duties and not worry about their families at home. It also helps those returning from duty with expenses related to re-establishing their civilian life.
The Elktoberfest will be held beginning at noon on Sunday, October 24 at the lodge on 16th Avenue SE.
The lodge will also be hosting a Halloween Costume Party. The price of wine, draft beer, well liquor, and domestic bottle beer will be only $2. Spooky Halloween punch will be free. Attendees are encouraged to bring a frightful treat to share. This will be held on Sunday, October 31 from 5:00 to 9:00 pm.
The lodge will also be holding a blind auction sponsored by the bartenders. Proceeds from the auction will go towards seniors in need in the community, working in collaboration with the Largo Police Department.
