The Pinellas Community Foundation in partnership with Creative Pinellas located in Largo will be offering a series of discussions open to the public on topics that are important to the arts and arts organizations.
Called “WE Convene,” the discussions will be offered this month at the Gallery at Creative Pinellas on Walsingham Road. There will be six sessions that will include a keynote speaker, discussions by those from the arts and other members of the community, and a workshop to further the conversation. All sessions will be held from 8:00 to 10:00 am on Thursdays. There will be a call for volunteers at the end of each session to work on the topic discussed. Such volunteers can also be brought together with poster printing.
Barbara St. Clair, the CEO of Creative Pinellas, said that now is the time for businesses, artists, and art organizations and the residents of the county to come together to evaluate, assess, and determine the direction of the arts in the community.
The sessions will be as follows:
• Public Art and Placemaking, February 24.
• Performing Arts, March 24
• Accessibility and Equity, April 28
• Arts and Tourism, May 19
• Economic Needs and Well-Being for Artists, June 23
• Arts and Education and Community Outreach, July 21
St. Clair expressed her excitement about these discussions on topics that are important to the well-being and growth of the arts and culture.
