Washington offers course to future mothers

Lamaze techniques have been used for many years to help women deal with the pain of childbirth, and a class that teaches these methods is on offer for Washington mothers-to-be.

The workshop will consist of four sessions, and a “make up” one has been built into the schedule just in case of a cancellation. The event is being offered by the Breastfeeding Center for Greater Washington. The course fee is $195, with a $60 deposit required to secure a spot.

The five weeks of classes have been planned so that they will be both informative and fun, and it may be a good opportunity for the attendees to make connections with other future parents. The group will discuss how to combine the benefits that go along with using Lamaze techniques with medical support, and the list of topics that will be discussed range from the early Signs of labor, to tips for the coach or birthing partner.

Every woman who participates in the workshop series will receive a book and review video so they can continue to learn as their due date approaches. A printing services company will be able to prepare bound learning materials to distribute to participants in a class like this.

The start date for this online class will be May 25. Anyone who is interested in registering will be able to do so by following the instructions on the host’s website.
