An umpiring academy and clinic is being organized near Plainville, and area residents who want to serve the community and spread the game of baseball are encouraged to enroll.
The Little League Umpire Academy is preparing to welcome experienced umpires and beginners who want to hone or gain new skills in preparation for the upcoming baseball season. The 2025 format has been revamped to help registered attendees get the most from the experience.
Registered participants can expect immersive, hands-on learning opportunities and interactive study to learn the ins and outs of the game. Areas of emphasis include Plate and Base Mechanics, working a two-umpire system, and the Little League rules. The clinic is open to all interested parties 18 and older. Flyer printing is a fantastic grassroots method to raise awareness of such events in the community.
The workshop will be led by members of the National Instructor Staff, who will use thoughtful and engaging instructions to help each umpire grow their skills and confidence. Lunch and training materials will be provided for all umpires who sign up for the academy. Umpires are required to bring all equipment and gear from home.
The Little League Eastern Complex, near Plainville, will host the academy from Thursday, 10, at 6:00 PM, to Sunday, 13 April. Interested parties can enroll in the workshop online.
