The King Arthur’s Fair: An Evening for Renaissance costume party is scheduled for next month. Festivalgoers from the surrounding area, including Norwich, Plainfield and Richmond will have the opportunity to experience the best of medieval times.
Costumes are not required to attend, but many revelers will no doubt dress in a Game of Thrones theme, focused on the early to late Middle Ages (approximately 500 to 1000 A.D.). Cloaks and capes are suggested to stay warm, as the festival will extend late into the evening, and will be held regardless of the weather.
The event will include booths with psychics, and vendors of costumes, jewelry, and crafts. Various food and drink will be available on site, including turkey legs, and treats from Rustic Streats. Music will be renaissance theme during daylight hours, but will switch to a more mainstream dance theme after dark. There will also be several shows including a history presentation, an acoustic singer and a live weapons demonstration.
The event will be held at Tamarack Lodge resort. A limited number of rooms, cabins, tent spaces and RV parking spots are available for rent during the event. Attendees wishing to stay over may reserve their desired accommodations by contacting Valoree at 203-223-6987. Brochure printing may be used to provide further details of the resort’s amenities, which are also available for weddings and glamping.
The King Arthur’s Fair will be held on Saturday, May 15 from 4:00 to 10:00 PM at the Tamarack Lodge, located at 21 Ten Rod Rd, Voluntown. Tickets are available on Eventbrite at a cost of $28 per person.
