Two musical offerings in Norwich next month

A month of musical entertainment is coming to Norwich.

Desert Rain will perform three times at the Strange Brew Pub, at 86 Water Street. The quartet from the Hampton area combines bluegrass with Rastafarian and rock music. Many of their songs are covers of songs from bands like The Grateful Dead, Bob Marley, and Johnny Cash. Often playing at local festivals and private establishments in New England with guest musicians, the band consists of Stephen Cutler on vocals, Jan Goldstein on bass, John Kneeland playing guitar, and Chris Andrews on drums.

Also, the Donald L Oat Theater is hosting the Norwich Art Center's Blues on Broadway, where Junior Mack is the featured guest.

Mack began teaching himself how to perform when he was nine years old. His style includes soul, blues, and gospel inspirations. Dickey Betts and Duane Allman were among his inspirations.

Mack will perform his usual energized contemporary blues to celebrate Black History Month, and take on some more traditional numbers in acoustic style.

Desert Rain will be at the pub on February 5, 12, and 19 at 8:00 pm. The Blues on Broadway with Junior Mack will take place on February 12 at 7:30 pm.

Flyer printing is regularly used by establishments to promote special events. It is a way to attract new customers with activities that might interest them.
