Freedom First Wildlife Rehab will host a fundraising event in Norwich at Billy Wilson's Ageing Still.
The Pancake Breakfast and Owl Meet and Greet is a fundraising activity where people can show their support for animals. Those who attend the meal can choose between a breakfast wrap or a dish of potatoes, pancakes, and sausage. All proceeds will be given to the wildlife rehabilitation center. Attendees can also meet Clyde, a barred owl that lives at the rehab facility. People who cannot attend the event can purchase tickets to provide meals to local first responders.
Freedom First Wildlife Rehab is a non-profit group that was created by Gwen and Rich Rice in 2017. The home-based rescue service is intended to be the state's only owl-exclusive rehabilitation and education charity. However, the employees have helped locals save animals such as baby squirrels and gulls. The organization has hosted meet-and-greets with owners at venues like the Olde Thymes Restaurant and the Brick & Basil Wood Fired Pizza Company.
The pancake fundraiser will be held on Sunday, April 16 and will begin at 9:00 am. The cost to attend the wildlife center's activity is $10 per person. Those interested in ordering tickets for the event can pick them up at Freedom First Wildlife, Norwich Bully Busters, or Billy Wilson's. Non-profits that put together charity breakfasts like this may use flyer printing to share their fundraising events with local families.
