Norwich to organize community arts festival

The Rose Arts Festival will return to Norwich in July at the Chelsea Parade.

The Rose Arts Festival is a community event that features an extensive lineup of local performers. This year, the musical acts will include Consider The Source, Daphne Parker Powell, and Nick Bosse & The Northern Roots. Attendees can also visit The Sara Davis Budding Artist Display to see pieces created by students from local schools. The festival's purpose is to invigorate and empower the community through public art, music, and human interactions.

The fest will also have several races for people to join. The Rose Arts Festival will have a 5K and 10K where participants can earn cash prizes. The beneficiary of the races is the Larry Pontbriant Athletic Safety Fund, which is an organization that was formed in 2007 to promote awareness of Sudden Cardiac Arrest. The group raises money to help schools in the community buy automated external defibrillators (AEDs). The organization also stresses the importance of CPR training.

The Rose Arts Festival will be held on July 1st at 11:00 am. Attending the fest is free, though people can donate online to help support the event. People can also view a post-festival fireworks display held on July 2nd at Howard T. Brown Park. The fireworks will begin at 5:00 pm. Communities that host programs like this can use poster printing to ensure locals are aware of the events.
