Norwich school starts baseball season with a victory

The Norwich Free Academy Wildcats beat the New London Whalers on April 9 with a score of 12-11, giving them a great start to the new season.

Luke Gabordi, who is in his first year as coach, expressed the range of emotions he and the team went through during the game, saying:

“Everything about it said early-season game. We did so many small things wrong, but it's what you expect, because we're so early in the year.”

Players were concerned about the Whalers giving them pitches to work with. They planned on bluffing the pitcher into thinking they would swing for bad throws. The high winds were also a factor that had the team on their toes.

In the sixth inning, the Wildcats did not seem like they were going to come out on top with the 11-5 score but pitcher Andy Grant was able to strike out the opponents in the seventh. By the ninth, they had almost caught up. Wildcat Andy Grant secured the win with a fly ball over the right fielder to bring two home.

Proud parents always enjoy using Bumper Stickers and clothing to show their child is part of a winning team. Printing services that work with the school could bring in business by making a wide range of products with school mascots on them. It would also be a good way to gain advertisement within the community.
