Norwich organization to offer outdoor mansion tour

The Norwich Historical Society will be holding a tour in September that focuses on local historic mansions.

The Norwich Millionaires’ Triangle Tour is a program where attendees can learn more about the opulent structures along Washington St. and Broadway. The excursion will teach people about the families that used to live in the mansions during the latter half of the 19th century. The length of the tour is 1.5 miles, and the route can accommodate those in wheelchairs. There are no bathrooms located on the tour, and dogs are not allowed at the program.

The Norwich Historical Society is a group that was created by Bill Stanley and Peg Wilson in 2001. The organization wishes to preserve and promote the rich history found in the community. Many programs are held by the society, such as William B. Stanley Lecture Series, Walktober, and Walk Norwich. Businesses can sponsor the group by paying between $250 and $5,000. The society has many volunteer positions, like walk leaders and brochure distributors.

The local mansion tour will be held on Saturday, September 16th from 10:00 am to 11:30 am. There is no price for the historical society’s program. Attendees will meet at the Chelsea Parade at the start of the tour. Groups that host walking activities like this may use flyer printing to share their outdoor programs with their neighborhoods.
