Norwich library to host educational concert

The Otis Library in Norwich will invite Catfeather Art & Music to give a musical presentation in December.

The Brill Building Sound is a program and concert where guests can learn about noteworthy composers who contributed to America’s post-war pop music genre. The collection of songs played during the event have all been created by composers who worked out of the Brill Building in New York City. The presenters may also incorporate some holiday songs into the concert. Those at the library’s event are asked to wear a mask throughout the presentation regardless of their vaccination status.

Catfeather Art & Music is a group consisting of Rick Spencer and Dawn Indermuehle. The duo creates theme-based music programs covering many topics. Past presentations from the two performers include Songs of the Second World War, On the Job: Historic Songs of American Work and Trades, and Music of the American Civil War. Spencer has also released several CDs of his own, like Sea Songs and Chanteys and The Days When We Were Young.

The musical presentation will take place on Saturday, December 3 from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm. No registration is needed to see Spencer and Indermuehle’s concert, and all guests can watch the program for free. Musicians who offer lessons such as this may use business card printing to share their contact details with potential venue owners.
