During winter break, students at Three Rivers Community College (TRCC) in Norwich can take courses shorter than three weeks.
The college on New London Turnpike starts its short session in the winter on December 26. Students must register by December 24. Most courses are worth three or four credits and fulfill a prerequisite or requirement for a degree. Many are also online so students do not have to go to the campus to complete them. This is helpful for students who attend TRCC but are away from the area for winter break. There are also classes available on site or a mixture of online and on site.
A diverse range of courses is available, such as World Architecture, Sociology, and US History. Interested students can visit the college's website for a list of every course available.
Students who regularly attend a different college but are in the area and home for the winter break are welcome to take part in these course, and can then transfer the credits to their current institution. However, students interested in doing this should ask the college they regularly attend if the credits will transfer before they register. Many colleges send the student a letter with official Letterheads stating that the credits were transferred.
Current students can register at my.commnet.edu, while visiting students and new students must apply on the college's website. The winter session ends on January 16.
