Norwich Chamber to organize duck race

The Greater Norwich Area Chamber of Commerce (GNACC) is bringing back a special fundraising activity in June to help a local fire department.

The GNACC Duck Race is an event where the community can take part in a rubber duck contest to raise funds for the Yantic Fire Department. There will be approximately 3,000 racing ducks sent down the Yantic River this year. Those who adopt a rubber duck for $5 can win prizes. Other activities will be available for attendees as well, such as children’s games, music, and vendors to browse. Guests will also have access to food trucks at the venue.

Companies can help the GNACC earn money for the Yantic Fire Department by becoming a sponsor for the duck race. The most affordable option available is the Feathered Friends package for $100, which includes the sponsor being mentioned on social media and in the post-event thank you email. More expensive sponsorships will give businesses benefits, such as having their Logo Design on volunteer T-Shirts, event Banners, and lawn Signs.

The GNACC Duck Race will take place on Saturday, June 4 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. Those interested in buying a duck for the race must pay by June 3. Vendors need to register by May 27 to reserve a space at the event. Members of the GNACC will need to pay $25, while non-members must pay $40.
