The rush of the winter holiday season will soon be hitting Milford, but an activity will provide a break during this hectic time.
The White Memorial Conservation Center is home to several wildlife ambassadors, and they will be the hosts for an evening for youth in grades six to twelve. It will explore how animals make it through the coldest part of the year, and it will be offered on a drop in basis.
The facilitator of the activity will introduce the attendees to the Center’s red tailed hawk, garter snake and spotted turtle, and there may be others on hand as well. Everyone can interact with the props, and the agenda is skilled with games and other fun. The attendees will learn about the differences between hibernation and torpor, and migration will be discussed as well.
Offering young people a time when they can learn about wildlife may spark an interest in the attendees in session, and it also provides a chance to meet some new friends. A flyer printing company may be a cost effective way for a not for profit organization to spread the word to the community about its upcoming events.
The Milford Public Library and its resident animals will be hosting this evening of discovering how wildlife has adapted to winter on December 21st. It will begin at 6:00 pm.
