A rubbery race planned for Milford will help raise money for the local United Way, and everyone is invited to get in on the excitement.
The Milford United Way Duck Race will once again take place in the community, and it has been scheduled for late May. Everyone can gather at Fowler Bridge to watch the loader dump the duckies so they can begin their journey, and there are two types of ticket available - Duck Race ($5) and High Stakes ($100).
The planners of this annual outside-the-box event say the event this year will be even bigger than before. The loader will dump 10,000 numbered rubber ducks into the waters of Milford Harbor, and the little quackers will then float their way along across the finish line. They will be scooped up by the event team, which will record the winning numbers. A variety of prizes will be up for grabs.
