Milford participates in community shred

A Milford area activity to help ensure that sensitive household documents are securely destroyed will be held in late October, and a variety of community service groups and businesses have supported the event.

The Stratford Rotary Club will be running a community shred, and the service will be performed on site. A small fee will be charged, the proceeds from which will support an assortment of projects.

Those who wish to take advantage of the opportunity can drive up to the collection station. A member of the Rotary Club will unload the items for shredding, and there will be volunteers on hand to accept payments. The fee charged will start at $10 for a small bag or box, going up to $100 for a full shred bin. Electronics for recycling can also be dropped off.

The activity is being hosted thanks to the support of several community partners, including Sikorsky Credit Union, Rosenberg & Hite, Santa Fuel, and A to Z Realty. Event organizers often order custom-designed Corporate Gifts to present to supporters to thank them for their assistance.

Next Saturday, October 24 will be the date for this drive-up shredding service at 1000 W Broad Street in Stratford, running from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. More details, including what items will and will not be accepted, are available on its Patch listing.
