San Fernando Valley Network and Bruin Professionals will present the Poetry Reading and Writing Workshop with Laura Reece Hogan in Woodland Hills next month.
The Bruin Professionals (BP) are a diverse group of UCLA Alumni who are prominent in the business world. The purpose of the network is to bring these professionals together in collaboration and fellowship, as well as allow members opportunities to share referrals, ideas, information, and advice with their fellow peers.
The poetry event will take place at the Valley Art Workshop, a performance venue and art education space that took the place of the Valley Art Institute when it closed in 2009. It will feature Laura Reece Hogan, UCLA law graduate and poet, as she reads from her first book of poetry entitled Litany of Flight and her upcoming volume called Butterfly Nebula. Attendees of the reading will also have the chance to learn from Reece Hogan as she leads the group through helpful poetry writing exercises.
Organizers and sponsors of such writing events may offer attendees complimentary items such as promotional Pens as a thank you for attending the event.
The poetry event is scheduled for May 24 at 6:30 pm. Valley Art Workshop is located at 5210 Collier Place in Woodland Hills. The event is free, but organizers ask for a $10 donation to cover the cost of the venue.
