Tender Greens is offering locally-sourced produce from purveyors and farmers for delivery, including vegetables picked at Scarborough Farms.
Shoppers can skip buying groceries by preordering them from Tender Greens, packaged in curated grocery Boxes or sold as individual items, during the coronavirus lockdown. This restaurant chain serves sandwiches, soups, salads, dairy, bread, and other necessities like toilet paper.
Groceries can be picked up through Postmates, UberEats, and Doordash. So far, these grocery Boxes are responsible for 30% of the casual restaurant’s business after increasing demand for courier services, the company has said. All produce is transported from farms in Woodland Hills to maintain the eatery’s focus on sustainability and putting the community first.
Tender Greens is partnered with Scarborough Farms, a farm that relies on small-scale agriculture to extend the shelf life of fresh foods. Grocery Boxes have numerous options: For instance, a Morning Baking Box provides milk, coffee, eggs, flour, sugar, and butter. A Fruit Box would contain apples, oranges, strawberries, grapes, and bananas.
A Farm Fresh Box includes spinach, lettuce, carrots, arugula, beets, and green peas. In addition, tomato soup, rice, mashed potatoes, salad dressing, baguettes, chicken breasts, and steak are on the menu for purchase. Prices currently range from $30-$65 per box. This delivery service will possibly run until the pandemic ends.
