Preschool has new owner

Today's Montessori, a bilingual English/Hebrew preschool located in West Hills, about three miles from Woodland Hills, California, has been bought by the Valley Jewish Community Center (VJCC).
The sale is welcomed by parents, who were afraid the school might close after its founder and owner, Chereen Peretti, said she wanted to sell. The VJCC in Woodland Hills apparently needed a preschool, and the sale was made. Parents were also delighted when they found out that Peretti was staying on.

Peretti started the school in 2008, following a dream of her mother's - to run a preschool. She created Today's Montessori to provide a warm and loving environment, which includes small classes. The school is eco-friendly, and an on-site chef prepares meals in a kosher kitchen, though the school's students are both Jewish and non-Jewish.

However, Peretti found running the school by herself was becoming difficult, which led to her decision to sell. Fortunately, VJCC bought the school and kept her on, and she says that having them behind her helps a great deal, by giving her extra support in dealing with matters such as renewing permits and talking with neighborhood councils.

Peretti's aim is to serve her community, and she believes that with the support she is now receiving, she can look forward to increasing the school’s enrollment.
