Roller skating fanatics will have a chance to enjoy California’s first pop-up outdoor rink in Woodland Hills during the month of June. POP SK8, which will be open daily to the public, was created and produced by Ann Potenza.
Although skating is the main draw, non-skaters are welcome as well. Those who don’t skate will be able to join in on other activities. Organizers have included cabanas that can be rented for special events, including family and school functions.
Corporations are also invited to join in the fun by hosting corporate events at POP SK8. Businesses could work with Print shops to have them create themed Corporate Gifts that align with the daily musical themes at the rink.
Music themes will add to the fun. Swing SK8 Mondays will kick off the week with music from the ‘40s and ‘50s blended into a new electro swing mix. Next is Groovy Tuesdays, Dyn-O-Mite ‘70s Wednesdays, I Want My ‘80s Thursdays and DJ Megamix Fridays.
Saturday skaters will enjoy music from the ‘90s through to today’s hits, and the weekend will end with La La Sk8 Land Sundays with movie musicals and Broadway-themed songs.
POP SK8 will be located at the Westfield Woodland Hills during June and will be open from 2:00 to 10:00 pm Monday through Thursday; 2:00 pm to midnight on Friday; noon to midnight on Saturday, and noon to 10:00 pm on Sunday for the duration of its stay. Admission is $15 and children under three are free.
