Library hosts Slippery & Slimey event

The Woodland Hills Branch Library will host an event presented by The Blue Submarine called Slippery & Slimey – A Sea Aquarium with Live Animals. The Blue Submarine is an outreach program which offers students adventures in marine biology.

The Blue Submarine will visit schools, summer camps, libraries and after-school programs in the southern California area. They offer a variety of topics and camps can use printing services of local Print shops to obtain Brochures and Promotional Products to enhance their events.

All their events are hands on and interactive which enhances the experience as the children learn about marine animals. The Slippery & Slimey event will provide an opportunity for kids to view the animals up close. The exhibit will feature live tidepool animals which the students can touch. The animals included in this event will be sea stars, octopus, hermit crabs, barnacles, sharks, sea slugs, sea urchins, mussels and more.

Along with this program, The Blue Submarine offers three others; Life on the Rocks which features tidepool animals, Inky Adventure which helps students learn about squid, octopus and related species and Fish School which teaches children about the uniqueness of the characteristics of fish.

The Blue Submarine is also available for bookings at birthday parties. The birthday party package includes the live tidepool animals, a short presentation and a gift for the birthday girl or boy.

The Woodland Hills Branch Library is located at 22200 Ventura Boulevard. The event will be held on Thursday, August 8th at 2:30 p.m.
