Music lovers in Woodland Hills can enjoy free concerts all summer. The Concerts on the Green series, held at the Valley Cultural Center, is already underway.
The concerts are held in the Lou Bredlow Pavilion, which is located at 5800 Topanga Canyon Boulevard in Woodland Hills. The performances start at 6 p.m., and end at 8 p.m., unless an announcement is made otherwise. Families are invited to come and picnic while they listen to the music.
Many of the upcoming performers are “tribute” bands that play the songs of one particular artist, often in their style, as a tribute to these legendary artists. The series kicked off with a tribute to the Beatles. On July 4, there will be fireworks as well as a concert. David Marks, one of the original Beach Boys, is the headliner, along with his band the Surf City Allstars.
From July 10 through August 31, the weekly concerts feature tribute bands honoring Bon Jovi, the Temptations, ABBA, Billy Joel and Elton John, Matchbox Twenty, and Led Zeppelin. The final performer of the year is Taylor Dayne, who appears August 31.
There is a charge for parking, which is available in parking structures on Califa Street and Owensmouth Avenue.
